A Practical Monthly Copier Maintenance Checklist
Ten minutes a month from an office manager prevents a large share of the emergency calls we take.
Weekly
Wipe the glass and ADF strip with a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth, never on the glass. Check the waste toner indicator. Clear the output tray so the sensor is not blocked.
Monthly
Vacuum around and behind the machine with a toner-rated vacuum. Inspect the feed rollers for shine or flat spots. Print a test page from every tray and confirm registration.
Quarterly
Record the meter read. Compare consumable levels against your usage rate and order ahead. Review the device log for recurring warning codes that have not yet become failures.
When to bring in a technician
